Bed Sores and Pressure Ulcers

Pressure ulcers, or bed sores, can range from a mild, pink skin colorations that disappears when the pressure is relieved, to a deep wound that can effect bone and internal organs.

In the case of nursing home pressure ulcers, they are usually caused by bed sheets constantly rubbing against the skin, after being in bed, or laying in a certain position in bed for long periods of time. To prevent nursing home bed sores or pressure ulcer, patients should avoid laying in bed as much as possible, and they should change positions as much as they can.

It is the responsibility of the nursing home staff, to see to it that patients don't develop nursing home bed sores, and if they do, chances are, the staff has been negligent in one way or another.

If a loved one has experienced serious nursing home bed sores, due to negligent behavior on the part of the staff, please contact Chicago personal injury attorney Arkady Reifman.
