Boat Accidents

Boating accidents are more common than one might think. Boating is supposed to be a fun recreational activity, but when alcohol is involved, boating accidents and injuries increase drastically. In more than 60 percent of all boating accidents, alcohol is involved. Alcohol-related boating takes a potentially high risk situation, and makes it much worse. Apart from being very dangerous, driving a boat while drunk is considered negligent behavior, and is also illegal.

While more than half of boating injuries are alcohol related, other boating accidents can occur due to the driver simply being too young, not having a license, or possessing limited experience operating the boat. These factors may lead injuries of the boat passengers, such propellor injuries and drowning.
