Medication Errors

Whether the wrong type of medication was prescribed to you, it was the incorrect dosage, or you were prescribed a medication with bad side effects of which you experienced, medication errors are very prevalent in healthcare today.

There are currently three main drugs on the market of which countless individuals reported having major, debilitating side effects after consuming them.

Actonel - A popular drug brand used to treat and prevent osteoperosis and Paget's disease. Since it's apperance on the market in 1998, many cases of osteonecrosis of the jaw were reported. Osteonecrosis of the jaw occurs due to a reduction in local blood supply, where the bone in the jaw deteriorates.

Boniva - Also used to treat osteoporosis (of the post-menopausal variety), Boniva has been known to cause Osteonecrosis of the jaw, as well.

Avandia - Many patients taking Avandia (designed to improve sensitivity to insulin) since 1999, have significantly increased their risk for a heart attack, and have suffered from strokes, liver problems, and anemia.

All in all, if you've been subjected to a medication error by your healthcare provider, medical Chicago malpractice lawyer, and personal injury lawyer Arkady Reifman can help you win your case.
